Nobel Peace Prize Research Project (Periods 2&5)

Students will be given a Nobel Peace Prize winner to research in class.

You will gather and present the following information in a Powerpoint or Prezi presentation:

1. Name of person
2. Picture of person
3. Where are they from?
4. What category do they represent: Disarmament, Peace Congresses, Brotherhood between nations, promoting peace or human rights/negotiations.
5. Why were they selected?  What was their major contribution to society? (Do not copy and paste. You need to put the ideas into your own words.)
6. Do you believe that this is still an important issue in today's world? Explain your opinion.

You will make your presentations next week.
Period 2 -- October 18
Period 5 -- October 19

 Share your presentation using the "share" link on Powerpoint (look for Catherine Manfra) or you can share through google docs.

This project is worth 10 points doubled.

Hi students!  Whether you are in my English I, English III or AP Lang class, I want you to refer to this blog page in case technology crashes and this is the only way to stay in touch and keep working on assignments. Periods 2 & 5 -- Tolerance Activity

We have read the passage on "Tolerance" by E.M. Forster, the "We and They" by Rudyard Kipling, and song lyrics "People are People" by Depeche Mode.
